Daniel Bruzdewicz's first varsity start for Eisenhower Baseball is a lesson in persistence. Daniel's freshman tryout was stopped by a season ending arm injury. Daniel's JV campaign was stolen by a pandemic. Daniel's junior year on varsity was lost on the first base running drill of the year with a torn ACL. When Daniel took the mound for his first ever start for IKE Baseball on Saturday vs. Lakeview, it was bound to be special. After 7 innings, it was an all time great performance. Daniel and the Eagles beat the Lakeview Huskies 1-0. 4 years in the making, it took Daniel an hour and 29 minutes to throw 73 pitches(53 for strikes). His final statistics= 0 hits, 1 BB, and 3 K's. Johnny Gawel drove in the only run with a sacrifice fly in the 4th inning. Jake Verellen had 2 hits and scored the winning run, but it was definitely Daniel's day in the sun! The Eagles moved to 6-4 on the year and 4-1 in the MAC RED.
