The JV Girls came out strong in their home-opener vs. cross-town rival Utica High on Thursday. They jumped out an early 9-2 lead in the first quarter and didn't let up. The lead was lengthened, heading into the half with a score of 17-2. A lethal combination of an effective full-court press, strong rebounding and aggressive play proved too much for the Chieftains in the 2nd half with the final score ending up 42-15.
The Eagles had a lot of scoring contributors; Amy Sidaway had 11 points, Aryonna Jackson contributed 6, Lexi Horattas, Kenzie Brinkmann and Layna Sturza each pitched in 4, Bridget Hafner and Alexa Shkreli added 3 a piece, Maggie McGuire, Abigail Klaft and Abbie Brecht scored 2 each and Londyn Maples scored 1.
The team travels to Berkley on Friday night for their first away game of the season!
