This friendly rivalry lived up to the hype! 
A fast paced first quarter set the tone for the game, as both teams raced up and down the court. The defenses on both sides stood the task, forcing several turnovers, as both teams were tied at two with 5:30 left in the first quarter. Aryonna Jackson scored the first four points for Eisenhower, but Utica tied the game at four with 2 minutes left in the first quarter. Utica knocked down one of two free throws, but Ike had a chance at the free throw line with 2.8 remaining in the opening quarter, and knocked down the second for a 5-5 tie. 
The teams traded minimal leads throughout the first quarter, as the teams started to settle into their offenses. Kaitlyn Woodcox gave the Eagles at 13-11 lead at halftime with a late basket and ended up with 10 points. 
Ike opened the second half on a 5-4 run sparked by a three pointer by Bella Yeske. The Eagles never looked back, as the Chieftains were held scoreless for the remainder of the second quarter. Stephanie Nocita controlled the flow of the game while playing excellent defense to lead the team. Londyn Maples defended Utica's strongest threat under the basket and used all of her fouls leaving the game early in the 4th quarter.
The Eagles held their largest lead of the contest at 11, winning 26-15, with strong defense and forcing Utica turnovers!
